Analysis of subcellular organization within the iron uptake regulation in plants

My PhD project aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms regulating the iron deficiency response in Arabidopsis. Iron is an essential micronutrient for both humans and plants. However, iron deficiency as well as iron excess negatively affect plant's vitality. Therefore, iron uptake and distribution inside the plant must be strictly regulated. During my PhD, I will elucidate the importance of the subcellular/subnuclear organization and protein-proteins interactions of master regulators of iron uptake for finetuning their activity in response to the plant’s needs and environmental cues.
